Happily settled in the Carolinas

If we ever move back to the Chicago area Virginia will be the first person we call! I really hope to work with her again someday.

My husband’s company moved us to the Chicago area in the summer of 2006. I was 7 months pregnant at the time already with two toddlers living in corporate housing.

Our relocation company put us in contact with Virginia Engelsman. My husband divided his time between two properties so his commute varied which made choosing a location difficult.

Virginia offered expert, professional advice on location, traffic, and travel routes that I believe saved him hours on the road between his offices and home. She put her knowledge of the Chicago area into practical and useful advice for us in choosing our suburb as well as the neighborhood.

Because my husband was working so much right away I looked at many properties without him. I never expected Virginia to be so much help with my kids! My daughter loved the mornings when we were going to see “Miss Ginia”. Virginia was so patient and never pressured us to buy a house that we weren’t 100% sold on.

When we found the house we wanted to buy Virginia again offered expert negotiating advice and was supportive of the numbers we presented to the sellers. We were thrilled with the outcome of our negotiations!

FIVE MONTHS AFTER MOVING INTO OUR HOUSE my husband accepted a promotion that moved us to St Louis, MO.
Of course we called Virginia right away to list our house. Because the company was paying all of our moving expenses we were only concerned about selling quickly and weren’t very concerned about making a profit.

However, Virginia helped us analyze the comparable homes in the area and showed us a great $$ number that gave us some leverage with-in negotiations but enabled our house to stay in a wide number of searches.

With Virginia’s marketing strategy and pricing our house stood out among the rest and it sold in 4 days for full asking price!!! Without Virginia’s advice we would have priced the house lower and left money on the table!

Her follow-through during the escrow process was extremely thorough. I can’t think of anything or anyone who could have helped to alleviate so much of the stress of moving!
